The road to my Greek yogurt addiction was a rocky one. I had heard all the buzz about how creamy and delicious Greek yogurt was, as well as how much of a protein punch it packed. Every time I went to the store in my small town the yogurt section looked like it had been looted. There was nothing but wide open space where the Chobani was supposed to be.
I started with another brand of vanilla Greek yogurt, which used to be my only flavor of choice. Eh. It was just OK, but nothing special. Then I tried one that had a separate little section with honey to mix into the yogurt. This intrigued me because I do love my honey! One problem. The honey was refrigerated with the yogurt and much too hard to even get out of the cup, let alone mix into the yogurt. Whose bright idea was this? Fail.
I had almost given up when a friend told me Chobani had yogurt with pineapple in it. Um, hello? Ambrosia anyone? That sounded way too good so I gave it one more chance. By then the initial fandemonium wore off and the store actually had Chobani in stock. Either that or they wised up and ordered more.
And that’s when I found out.
Chobani pineapple yogurt is, like, the BEST THING EVER.

Pineapple Chobani is the absolute best but sometimes I mix up my routine with blood orange, which is also fab.
Now I make smoothies with Chobani yogurt almost every day for my kids. It’s probably the healthiest thing they eat and they love it. I sneak some ground flax seed meal in there for a touch more protein and lots of omega-3′s. I used strawberry banana flavor for this but I’ve also tried it with black cherry, pineapple, strawberry, and vanilla. They all work! I also like to use vanilla soy milk for added sweetness. If you use regular milk you may need just a touch of honey to sweeten it up.
- 1 container Chobani Strawberry Banana yogurt
- 1 medium banana
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- ½ cup vanilla soy milk
- 1 tablespoon golden flax seed meal
- 4-5 ice cubes
- Add all ingredients to blender.
- Pulse until fully smoothified.
Chobani doesn’t just make awesome yogurt; they are a great company, too! They’ve graciously offered to send a free case of yogurt to one of my readers. The only requirement to be eligible is a U.S. mailing address. I will pick one random winner from the comments below.
Here’s how you can earn entries:

I have a question for ya!! I just started buying flax seed, but I didn’t buy the meal. Can I grind my own flax seed and is that meal I can add to the smoothies and banana bread??? We have been on a smoothie kick here at the Gee household, could really use a case of that yummy Chobani yogurt! Great giveaway!
TY
Good question! I have the seed and the meal. The meal is very powdery so I’m thinking you would need a (clean) coffee grinder to get such a fine consistency. Try it and let me know!
I liked your facebook page! Also, Chobani is the best!

Like you I have been trying to adapt my taste buds to Greek yogurt using plain yogurt with zero fat. Have tried a variety of brands, but not Chobani so will give this one a try. I’ve been using Crystal light to-go packets for flavor as well as adding fruit & a bit of Stevia. I’m changing for the protein as well as trying to decrease sugar in the yogurt since some of the brands of regular yogurts have quite a bit of sugar.

I love Greek yogurt smoothies - perfect way to get some protein in.

This smoothie is PACKED with sugar. The strawberry banana Chobani already has 19 grams of sugar, and with adding 1 cup of strawberries, a banana, and soymilk, the entire smoothie comes to about 50 grams of sugar!!!
My suggestion for anyone wanting to make this healthier- use Chobani PLAIN yogurt with only 7 grams of sugar per 6oz serving. The added fresh fruit will give it the strawberry banana flavor anyway and will taste just as good!
This makes 2 servings and there are 32 grams of total carbs per serving. That is the equivalent of 2 diabetic exchanges which is great for a protein-packed treat. Naturally occurring sugars in fruit and dairy products are in no way bad for you (unless you’re lactose intolerant). However, if it’s sweet enough for you with plain yogurt, by all means, go for it.

I love that Chobani is coming out with all sorts of new flavors! Apple Cinnamon sounds heavenly, but I have yet to try it. Blood orange would probably be amazing as well!
